For those of you who have already created Google Forms, of course, you know that there are several types of answers that you can ask the respondents for.

The following are some of the types of answers we can ask for on Google Forms:

Short answer: This type of answer is perfect for those of you who want to get short answers such as names, email addresses, and the like.
Paragraphs: This type of answer is similar to the previous one, only it is suitable for longer answers such as a home address, place and date of birth, and the like.
Multiple choice: This type of answer is usually used by teachers when creating Google Forms for online tests or exams.
Check Box: This type of answer is similar to multiple-choice, except that a, b, c, and d are not provided.
Drop-down: When clicked, all the answer options that can be selected will appear. Similar to multiple-choice, only the appearance is different.
There are several more types of answers such as linear scale, multiple choice grid, checkbox grid, date, and time.

But usually the most frequently used are the 5 types of answers that I mentioned above.

There are also other types of answers, namely those that allow respondents to upload files as answers. How to? Just read the tutorial below.

How to Add File Upload Feature to Google Form

This feature can be added to an existing Google Form that you have created before.

Or if you’ve never made a Google Form before, it’s very easy, just open a browser, then visit the site. Don’t forget to log in using your Google account.

After that create a new Google Form by tapping +. It looks like the screenshot below.

We can create various questions with different types of answers. For example, we can create questions with essay or multiple choice answers.

So, in this tutorial, we want people who open our Google Form to upload files.

The trick, in the question you created, replace the question type with Upload File. Tap the drop-down menu next to the question.

You will see that there are many types of answers to the question, select the Upload File.

You will see a notification will appear, the content of the notification is that the uploaded file will be saved to our Google Drive.
And the person who is asked to answer the Google Form must first log in to be able to upload the file.

Tap Continue.

Next, you can also set some things here. For example, the types of files that can be uploaded by the answerer.

Several types of files are allowed here, ranging from Documents, Sheets, PDFs, Videos, Presentations, Images, and audio.

Not only that, but you can also provide a limit on the number of files that can be uploaded. You can choose between 1, 5, or 10.

Then, you can set the maximum file size that can be uploaded. There are several options, namely 1MB, 10MB, 100MB, 1GB, and 10GB.

Keep in mind that all files uploaded by the answerer will be saved to our Google Drive as the Google Form builder.

To adjust between the number and maximum size of files that can be uploaded. Don’t let your Google Drive be full of uploads from answerers but you don’t realize it.

Where Can I View Files Uploaded by Answerers?
As I wrote above, the files uploaded by the answerers or respondents are stored on your Google Drive.

So if you want to check the files from the respondents, just open your Google Drive, either from the browser or the Google Drive application on your cellphone.

You will see there is a new folder with the same name as the name of the Google Form you created.

If you have more than one Google Form that can upload files, then you will also find more than one folder containing files from the respondents.
