For those of you who have just registered for a Skype account, you must have set the account name that you will use during the registration process.
Skype exempts us from using names.
We can use real names or pseudonyms.
If you change your mind and want to change the Skype name you use, you can change it at any time.
Maybe when you registered you used your real name, and now you want to change it to a pseudonym. Or vice versa, it’s very easy to do.
Don’t know how? Please follow the steps below.
How to Change Account Name on Skype
The tutorial below I did through the Skype application on the iPad.
But I don’t think there’s any difference for Skype on iPhone or Android phones, as long as you’re using the latest version of Skype.
So before following this tutorial, it’s a good idea to update the Skype app first. If so, continue by following the tutorial below:
Open the Skype application, make sure you are logged into your account. Then tap on your profile photo.
Then select the Skype profile menu.
After that, you will see your Skype profile in full, starting from your photo, name, email and others.
To change the name, tap the button with the pencil logo next to the name.
After that you can immediately replace the Skype account name with a new one. Tap the Skype name you want, then tap the Check button when you’re done.
Finished. You just finished renaming your Skype account.
The changes will also be immediately visible to your friends on Skype.
Skype, like any other instant messaging application, allows us to rename as many and as many profiles as we want.
In contrast to social media applications such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
We may be banned if we change our name too often because we will be considered as bots.
In Skype, we have more discretion because it is an instant messaging application.
So, whatever we do with our account on Skype will have no effect on other users.
Most importantly we do not use Skype accounts for illegal activities that are prohibited by law.
